What is Musenmai rice?
The amount of bran remaining when milling brown rice to white rice is about 2%. This bran is less when the rice is rinsed with water, and you can enjoy the deliciousness of white rice, but Koyanagi Farm`s musenmai removes this bran when it is milled. The rice is delicious because it does not bear the burden of extra heat during rice milling, and it is said to be eco-friendly rice because it does not produce the bran water that comes out when rinsing at home.
How to cook delicious no rinse rice
①No rinse rice does not need to be sharpened (the white turbidity when water is added, is the melted starch, not the bran). To make it easier to absorb water, lightly rinse it to make it more delicious.
②As a guide, the amount of water should be 1.4 times the mass of white rice.
③Soak for 30 minutes before cooking the rice so that the water penetrates to the core of the rice.
※Cook rice once using the standard method and adjust the amount of water to your liking. To reduce uneven cooking and charring, stir the rice so that the water spreads throughout the rice after adding water, and then cook the rice. If you are in a hurry it is recommended that you increase the amount of water slightly.
※When cooking in a pot, please lengthen the steaming time after cooking.
